After that, set 2 became like 1 long trip. They did their thing, sounded good doing it, then moved on to much better things before too long. Set 2 they had a little fun and did Paul Revere to start things up. Then where the hell did Trucker's come from?!? Whoda thunk it? Abyss>Spacebird>42>Spacebird was pretty insane, although I wish they'd stop playing 42 (it's a good song, they just play it way too often). It was my 3rd or 4th straight New Years with Bisco, cause thats always where the party is.Īnyway, I missed pretty much all of Astronaut, but upon hearing it again it was pretty good. You must analyze the quality of the banana before you eat it, not just eat it simply because its a banana.įirst let me start off by saying this show was nasty from start to finish. It's like some of you are like monkeys at the zoo, eating whatever bananas are being thrown at you. I like the untz but not all the fuckin time, seriously people lets grow some brains and not just dig whatever their playing just because its Bisco. The setlist of this show is not the greatest, if you want a good new years show check out 05 Hammerstein or 07-08 New Years at Tweeter, such a better show/setlist. They knew they couldn't dissapoint at least half the audience by just playing untz, so that's what they stuck to primarily. I feel that they were trying to feel there way out with Allen, and figure out exactly which direction they were goin to take the band. Personally i thought 06, from what I saw, was not their best year. I was there and was not all that impressed. Anyone with a decent sense of musical taste will understand what I am saying. To all of you fuckin mindless UNTZ zombies, this show was alright but not nearly worth five stars. By the way, I think this show is the hot fire ball-sack flames. I hope a heard of bison trample your lifeless body after I shove an American flag (on a long, very long pole) through your eye socket. Monkeys? Fuck yo,you closed minded, self-absorbed, mirror licking, self-righteous, Bush voting (00' and 04') piece of garbage. If you knew anything about music, Bisco, or good times or peace on earth, you would quit being a fart smelling fuck and realize that putting down other Bisco fans is way way way way not cool and appreciate the music for what it is.You were dancing your ass off huh? I bet you can't dance worth a fly on a horses ass. I doubt if any of the other reviewers have either. I don't care, and neither does anyone else, if you are in a band. Are you in a band? Are you a musical genius? Can you predict the future? Are you Jesus Fucking Christ? So you were at this show, so you proclaim to be the old school Bisco fan who remembers the old days, so you are the.Fuck off. Monkeys? Bananas? You pretentious little fuck. There were good shows in 2006, even a few great ones, but the 29th, 30th and 31st were the shows that made 2007 and all of it's genius possible. This is where the 2.0 era kicked into hyperdrive. Fortunately after this, they fixed everything about Caterpillar (besides the lyrics, but what can ya do?) and made it an absolute juggernaut in 2007 and forward. Caterpillar is kind of a mess, but they attempted to make it huge. Some song called Orch Theme or something? What? Orch Theme? From the Conspirator cd?! Shit! I knew that song too! Woopsies! The way they break back into Therapy is underrated genius as well. I think I punched 6 different people in the face. Therapy seemed like SUCH a bizarre choice.but then, wait is this the BEST JAM EVER?! and it's in THERAPY?!? - Well, that's what I thought at the time. God they were teasing that song HARD in this set, it really tied the room together, Dude. The entire 2nd set, but particularly the Solstice jams in Munchkin and Bazaar->Basis. Highlights: Abyss starting from nothing and the absolutely perfect segue into the beginning of Spacebird. It is fucking HILARIOUS that people complained about the "Untz" being so prevalent in 2006 when they had just sat through 2+ years of the Biscuits playing the same limp house jam in damn near every song, 2006 steadily turned that jam into something much fuller and infinitely more interesting thanks to Aucoin's brilliant e-drum work and Barber's re-dedication to minimalist guitar figures. That's usually a good indicator that the Biscuits found their sweet spot. You can tell it's a good show because one person is bitching about there being too much trance, and another person is bitching about there not being enough. People are saying to check out 2005 or 2007s NYEs over this one? YIKES! I was at every NYE from 2000 through 2009 (and eventually they got so bad in 2010- yes even worse than how they played through 04/05 that i gave up)Īnyway, this show is incredibly well put together with so many standout moments. I thought it was weird once I finally realized I meant it too.
